			The HPLC system, as an analytical instrument, has matured and stabilized, resulting in a highly versatile system. Various methods have developed through use of suitable detectors such as UV, PDA, FD, and ECD, as well as through combining with gradient and/or column switching systems.

			HPLC continues to be a very useful instrument. Although it is inferior to LC/MS/MS in selectivity and sensitivity, its superior reproducibility is advantageous for extended periods of bioanalysis.
